About Us
Established as a charitable foundation in 1995, the Coalition for Stronger Communities (CSC), Inc. provides a supporting role in educational, civic, literacy and charitable programs to the community we serve. CSC will collaborate with non-profit organizations and community programs to leverage financial resources and knowledge in pursuit of our mission. CSC is committed to building stronger communities through the promotion of scholastic excellence, health awareness, social change, personal and economic empowerment.
|| Our mission is to build partnerships and impact lives for a greater community.
CSC has strong ties to the community and is actively involved in many aspects of service through community forums, and economic and financial literacy programs. Many of these programs have been developed and implemented with the Fort Washington Alumnae Chapter (FWAC) of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated. Current programs include an annual youth summit for high school students; a Biennial Jabberwock Cotillion for girls 14 to 18; and financial literacy workshops for both teens and adults. The CSC sponsors an annual Scholarship Gala in partnership with FWAC. Additionally, for seven consecutive years, CSC has co-sponsored an annual event for Seniors, ages 65 and older living in senior residential facilities in Southern Prince George’s County. Events include Luaus and a Senior Fashion Show and Tea. CSC is also committed to the success of our youth, and has provided grants to organizations in support of promoting scholastic achievement and awarding scholarships to deserving high school seniors.
